What is Human Growth Hormone? |

Human Growth Hormone, or HGH as it is commonly used, is a chemical that is under great controversy in the world of athletics. Ironically enough, it is not a drug like stereoids, but rather something that man himself can produce inside.
Every animal produces a growth hormone. When they are born, animals need to mature quickly into a capable being so as to survive in the wilderness. The secret to this quick development is growth hormone. In humans, this is Human Growth Hormone - and it is what kicks in to build muscle, heal wounds, and make you an adult.
The problem with Human Growth Hormone in athletics is that it is so powerful and enhancing on performance that is is treated like a performance enhancing drug (stereoids, for example). This "home made" chemical is so powerful, that if we could master it we would make super-men out of our own potential.
Overall, I don't think Human Growth Hormone will ever be allowed in athletics, but the scary thing is wondering where it will be used in other places. If we the public know about it and can utilize it to enhance our performance in sports - what does the military know and use? Are we going to be seeing a real-life incredible hulk any time soon?
