The Olympics are really a true sporting arena that we have for athletes from all countries in the world. We try to have a great team. Now we are having problems with the use of HGH and athletes. HGH is a human growth hormone and can be great for athletes. This drug is enhancing to the effect that it makes us stronger and increases lean body mass which makes sports easier to win. But we don't want to us the drug HGH because we are still learning more about the drug. Also if one athlete is using HGH and the other isn't it is not fair.
There is a team of doctors putting together a test to check the athletes' urine to determine if there are any physiological changes. A doctor from Switzerland (Dr. Marcel Saugy) said his team has come up with measuring concentrations of HGH in urine with a process known as enzyme immunity assay. They will know later this year if this will help with detecting HGH and are wondering if it will be cost effective, time consuming, and stir up political issues. Let's hope this will be true and keep our sports clean of being spoiled by HGH.
